Find Me Ashley by N. Rostek

contemporary reverse harem books
Series: WITSEC #1
Genre: Reverse Harem, Romance, Contemporary, Dark, New Adult, High School, Mystery, Crime, Romantic Suspense
One year ago…

My family is gone. My parents. My twin sister. All of them murdered by the man who has stalked me for years. He nearly killed me, too. But I got away and he’s still out there, searching for me. He won’t find me. At least, I hope not. Thanks to WITSEC, I’ve been given a new life with a new identity.

The present…

My uncle, my only living relative, has helped me glue myself back together and given me the tools I’ll need to survive. I’m not fixed and my grief is heavy, but I’m at a point where I can put one foot in front of the other to try to move on.

I know my future will be hard and lonely. I must stay strong and focus on the good. I’m getting a second chance at life. I am safe. My new home is beautiful. The four brothers who live next door are even more so. Little do I know that Colt, Creed, Keelan, and Knox will soon become my everything. It’s as if my lonely heart screamed out for someone good to find me. Four answered back.

One of the best contemporary reverse harem books I have ever read. The story is absolutely beautiful and quite saddening, and this aspect really highlighted the found family feature often included with reverse harem (and the beauty of it). The tragic incidents the heroine went through are honestly heartbreaking, and this series can actually be scary because of how realistically threatening a violent stalker can be. An absolute diamond within the pile of contemporary reverse harem books. The slow burn is satisfying and with slight enemies to lovers (it’s more slow burn).

Finding Fate by S.M. Olivier

Series:  Peyton’s Path #1
Genre: Reverse Harem, Romance, Contemporary, High School, Abuse, Young Adult
My name is Peyton, and I have a charmed life. I live in a beautiful mansion on top of a hill and want for nothing. My father’s successful, and my mother’s devoted to seeing me and my siblings succeed… Oh, wait…that’s not my life at all. That’s my half-sister’s life.

Until recently, I had no family, aside from my mom and dad. My life consisted of secrets, escape, two best friends, and most importantly, dance. But when my mom drops a bombshell on me, that we’re moving to her hometown hours away, all the secrets come out, including the fact that the man who I’ve called dad my whole life, is really my uncle.

So now it’s a new school, new life, new town. And let me tell you, this town hates me. My life has never been a bed of roses, to begin with, but being here? It’s hell. My best friends are far away, my dance career is on hold, and the family drama is movie-worthy. The only thing that’s worth getting up for in the morning is my new friends, a group of guys who have made it their mission to put me under their wing. They bring me into their circle, determined to protect me and help me on my new path.

But sometimes, we get in our own way. Sometimes, you can’t walk alone.

Sometimes, the only way to live your life is to lean on the ones who love you.

Another one of the really depressing (and touching) contemporary reverse harem books. In this book, the heroine is suicidal and wants to die, and you get to see a lot of how two men try to save her from the edge. You’ll start to see a pattern where the found family trope is strongest with contemporary reverse harem books. A found family trope is a popular book trope where you find fulfillment from a “found family” you created with other non-related characters in a story. And is a common reason behind the reverse harem’s popularity.

My personal hypothesis is that it’s due to how contemporary reverse harem books being in a contemporary setting forces the books to fully utilize the found family aspects of reverse harem dynamic in the story and romance.

Groupie by C.M. Stunich

Series: Rock-Hard Beautiful #1
Genre: Reverse Harem, Romance, Contemporary, Music, New Adult, Contemporary, Adult, MM, Celebrity Romance
“Can one of these five rockstars fill the hole in my heart? Or will I stay broken forever?”

Young, dumb, and broke.

That’s what started everything. With five dollars in her pocket, and everything she owns stuffed in the back of her car, Lilith Goode’s life is over. Done. Destroyed.

Ten words. One text. That’s what it took to change the whole world.

A crumpled concert ticket. A chance encounter. That’s what it takes to start all over again.

Five rockstars. One girl. Six dark hearts, six withered souls.

But can one broken person really put another back together again?

And is a cross-country tour the place to do it?

Recommend if you are interested in celebrity reverse harem romance.

Triple-Duty Bodyguards by Lily Gold

Genre: Reverse Harem, Romance, Contemporary, Adult, Military
One celebrity diva in trouble. Three overprotective bodyguards determined to keep her safe.

As one of the world’s most hated celebrities, I’m used to unwanted attention. But when I wake up one morning to find a mysterious man has broken into my house, I know I need security, fast. Enter “The Angels”, my three ex-military bodyguards:

Glen, the Scottish sweetheart with the scarred face and gentle hands.

Kenta, the long-haired soldier with the tattooed skin and secretive smile.

And Matt, the blue-eyed, bad-tempered leader haunted by his military past.

Having three gorgeous men guarding me 24-7 sounds like a dream come true, but it turns out to be a nightmare. They’re always here, watching me. Caring for me. Protecting me. They tell me to ignore them and go about my business, but I can’t even think with them so close. The spark is too intense.

On top of that, we don’t get on. They think I’m a demanding diva. I think they’re overdramatic. When a trip to America sends the guys’ protective instincts into overdrive, the sizzling tension between us finally breaks, and I learn my bodyguards’ butterfly-inducing secret: they want me.

All three of them. Meanwhile, my stalker’s behaviour is becoming more and more alarming. He’s photographing me through windows and following me in the shadows. With the premiere for my next movie coming up, will my three bodyguards be able to keep me safe from his clutches? Or will my terrifying pursuer finally get his deadly way?

Ayyy finally, a celebrity romance where the heroine is the celebrity, not the hero. This is one of the bodyguards contemporary reverse harem books. I recommend it if you are into that prompt and are looking for more mature characters.

Introductions by C.L. Stone

Series: The Ghost Bird #1
Genre: Reverse Harem, Young Adult, Romance, Contemporary, High School, Mystery, Abuse

With an agoraphobic mother and a barely-there father, Sang abhors the isolation keeping her in the shadows. The only thing Sang craves is a fresh start and to be accepted as ordinary by her peers, because for her being different meant being cast out alone.

When her family moves to a new school district, Sang infiltrates a group of boys nearly perfect in every way. Grateful for an influence outside of her parents’ negativity, she quickly bonds with the boys, hoping to blend in and learn from them what it means to have a natural relationship with friends.

Only the boys have secrets of their own and they’ll do anything to keep her safe from the knowledge of the mysterious Academy that they’ve sworn allegiance to. Bit by bit, Sang discovers that her friends are far from the normalcy she expected. Will her loyalty change when she’s forced to remain in the dark, or will she accept that she’s traded one house of secrets for another?

Meet Kota, Victor, Silas, Nathan, Gabriel, Luke and North in a story about differences and loyalty, truth and mystery, friendships and heart-throbbing intimacy.

The Academy, ever vigilant.

One of the older contemporary reverse harem books. Very PG. The first book is free on Amazon.

Phoenix by Autumn Reed, Julia Clarke

Series: Stardust #1
Genre: Reverse Harem, Young Adult, Romance, Contemporary, Mystery

The Stardust Series follows the story of Haley Jones and six dangerously appealing guys—Liam, Knox, Ethan, Chase, Theo, and Jackson.

All Haley Jones wants for her eighteenth birthday is answers. Thanks to an overprotective dad and a secluded existence in the Sierra Nevada wilderness, Haley has never experienced a typical life. Her dad claims there’s a good reason for their isolation, but he refuses to tell her why, delaying her questions with the promise of answers when she turns eighteen. That day has finally arrived, but the explanation raises more questions than answers. And when Haley wishes for the chance to explore the world, she finds that the old adage rings true—be careful what you wish for.

This is an older completed contemporary reverse harem book and series out there and is (rightfully so) often recommended as an introduction series to contemporary reverse harem books because of its relaxing vibe and gentler dynamic for the development of the harem. It’s lesser known though and often only recommended by people who are aware of its existence and more experienced readers of the reverse harem. Though trigger warning for PTSD (the female lead has it), and is one of those found-family reverse harem stories where the guys help the girl get out of her trauma.

Devils’ Day Party by C.M. Stunich

Genre: Reverse Harem, New Adult, Romance, Contemporary, High School, Dark

I crashed my shitty yellow VW Beetle into Calix’s Aston Martin.
To be fair, he deserved it.
But Calix and his friends, Barron and Raz, they don’t see it that way.

Not that it matters.
They’ve bullied me for years, and I’ve never known why.
At least today, they have something real to be pissed about.
All of which would be fine, if today was a normal day.
But it’s not. It’s far from normal.
My mantra has always been: this too, shall pass.

But not today.
Not the worst day of my life.
Hot bullies, busted cars, and pain.

Somebody kill me now.

Strongly recommend! This is a standalone written by the same author who wrote The Havoc Boys, Rich Boys of Burberry Prep, and Adamson All-Boys Academy series. She’s definitely a staple in the reverse harem community and is one of the most well-known bully contemporary reverse harem book authors out there.

I can’t recommend this book strongly enough, especially if you are a veteran reverse harem junkie like me and are in a reading slump and are desperately craving better and more unique reverse harem books out there because none of them are grabbing your attention anymore. Babe do I have the prescription for you. This is a bully reverse harem romance with a Groundhog Day twist. It’s so unique and interesting! Please go check it out, and it’s a standalone too so it’s so perfect for a reading slump because it’s so digestable.

I have made a lot of popular reverse harem recommendations already. If this list was helpful to you, I highly recommend you also check out:

As many readers may know (especially romance book readers), oftentimes we like to seek out book tropes and read romance books that include the book tropes we usually like and the book tropes we want to read at the moment. It’s what drives a lot of book recommendations and is a common way we seek out books to read.

If you are a reader who is interested in:
